Rules of participation
ENTRIES
Each year, entries can be accepted from individuals, companies and public institutions, both from Spain and abroad.
Entries can be accepted from both individuals or companies whether they be members of SpainDMCs or not.
The period for presenting entries is from April 1 to July 31 of the corresponding year.
CATEGORIES
Entries must be presented within one of the following awards categories:
A

DISTINGUISHED SUPPLIER
Award for a company that has collaborated in an outstanding way with Spanish DMCs.
B
-
SpainDMCs EXCELLENCE AWARDS
An award to recognise the professional excellence of an individual who can demonstrate a track record of supporting the activity of DMCs.
There will be only ONE award in each of the categories.
The Managing Board of SpainDMCs however reserves the right to change both categories and the rules of entry at any time.
ENTRIES
Entries to the SpainDMCs awards can be presented via any office of SpainDMCs members or via the appropriate section of the SpainDMCs website, www.spaindmcs.com
Entries should include the following information:
1. Details of the person presenting the entry,
2. Details of the person, company or public institution being presented for the award clearly indicating the category.
3. Reasons for which the entrant is considered a deserving award winner.
THE JUDGING PANEL
The SpainDMCs board will preselect a shortlist of 5 candidates for each category. This shortlist will be presented to the judging panel
The judging pane is made up of representatives of each member organisation of SpainDMCs.
In exceptional circumstances, SpainDMCs may invite a recognised professional (Spanish or foreign) from within the tourism industry to join the judging
panel.
Awards will be voted on in secret by the judging panel. Each member will be limited to one vote only for each awards category. Awards
winners will be those with the highest number of votes within each category.
Voting will take place for the SpainDMCs awards between 1 - 30 September each year.
JUDGING CRITERIA
Judging panel members will receive from SpainDMCs a series of recommendations on the common criteria to be used in assessing entries. The
principal criteria is that the merits of the entry be clearly demonstrated. In order for a correct evaluation, the following should be
included with all entries.
1. Data and facts that support the presentation of arguments.
2. Clear and precise information to explain and support the information contained within the entry.
The SpainDMCs board reserves the right to NOT declare a winner if no entrant reaches a minimum total of 25% of the votes cast by the jury.
WINNERS
Winners will be notified at an event to be staged before the 31st December of the corresponding year. During this event there will be an
awards ceremony.
